Job Description—Marketer/Publicist/Co-Writer/Part-Owner
Marge “Magic” Powers is the Author of over 180 Books on Personal Growth, Elder Life Living Issues, and Psychology issues, Marge is a Life Coach, a Unity Minister, and owner of Winning Ways, a Career and Life Coaching Service firm. She is seeking a person interested in becoming a full-time partner/owner investing time rewriting books according to Publisher’s Format Process, Also, writing Query Letters and Book Proposals, and recruiting for publishers or agents to publish her books.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Writing the marketing and statistics part and book proposals, plus operate and maintain an aggressive marketing campaign.
- Maintain a profitable campaign message for books available and also help with research to ensure finding a publisher.
- Finding an agent or publisher for the books and provide continued interactions and critical relationships in the publishing field.
- Provide appropriate Book presentations for the above-mentioned Personal Development Books, that would expand the publication and profits of said books, and a book writing, marketing, and an aggressive attraction program that would expand said sales opportunities.
- Identify and expand strategic relationships within the publishing world with selected and interested professionals.
- Work closely with Marge “Magic” Powers as partner to determine unique ways to spread awareness about available books to drive book sales and/or find available and interested publishers seeking self-growth-development books.
- Duties include total commitment to researching, advertising and marketing trends for books; re-editing current books to fit publishers’ requirements, research competitors pricing and products; Decide on appropriate placement of advertising; determine what content will reach customers.
- Be very interested in owning part of Marge Power’s Books, and receiving half profits when are available.
Work Hours and Compensation:
- The work hours are flexible, depending on need, scheduled by you.
- Corporate benefits are not included
- As a part time Owner, responsible for your own taxes and travel costs.
- Compensation is a 50% of all profits and ½ ownership/partnership of all books published and not published.
Position Requirements:
- Understands people and human psychology with respect to selling and marketing campaign intangibles.
- Understands and is knowledgeable of the Publications Industry and all that is involved in publishing books.
- Has experience and knowledge of writing book proposals and accurate statistics in the self-growth field and has good relationships with managers in the book publishing environment.
- Has sales/marketing experience, good professional energy, and demonstrates knowledge of direct sales, writing book proposals, query letters, ability to provide cold calls. presentations and effective promotions.
- Has a college degree or equivalent experience in the writing of books being published.
- Works independently; is goal driven, commitment to making a positive difference in the world and is results oriented. Is willing to wait for payment when book is sold to publisher and available to the authors.
- Before accepting this opportunity, be open to reading the available books necessary to incorporate their knowledge in the subjects of the various books written by Magic Marge Powers.
- Is motivated for making a difference in the world by making available to the public these important and informative self-care growth development books.
- Has a positive attitude and is driven with creative new ideas and suggestions for marketing these books to the public publishing arena and interested parties.
- Has experience and is very motivated for giving professional presentations if necessary.
